The Philosophy

We try to respect the peculiarities of the vineyards, of the selected vine species, of the different vintages, combining them with our taste and our wish to go our own way, beyond fleeting fashions and business pressures. This means, for us, producing wines aimed at elegance and at an extremely pleasant mouth feel, despite their robust structure, as well as at the ability to resist to and gain complexity from time, rather than surrender to it.

To do this, we start from the vineyard, which we attend to bunch by bunch, with harvests sometimes far apart in time, and with repeated harvesting sessions in more complex years. These are always performed manually, with further selection of the grapes as they reach the cellar. Then, maceration occurs differently for each vintage and vineyard, in an obsessive pursuit of balance, without unnecessary extremes. Maturation follows, where wooden casks are never used for their own sake, but only in view of obtaining lush, complex wines, capable to manage and master oxygen in the following years. Finally, long-term bottle ageing is allowed, without haste, to reach the market with perfectly balanced wines.

In short, few compromises and some additional risks, because when you truly love wine, you can see that nothing comes easily and everything must be conquered day by day, year by year.
