The Chianti region is one of the world symbols of Tuscany.
On its hills bordered with woods and still rich of game, knights rode, artists strolled, numberless generations of farmers worked hard but cleverly to establish one of the best examples of perfect symbiosis between man and his dwelling places in history. The variety of soils, ranging from barren clay to glacial marl, from volcanic sediments to gypsum deposits and to the typical “galestro” rock, results into wines endowed with a unique personality, also shaped by constant air breezes and continuous temperature changes.
Villa Le Piazzole is located on one of its northernmost ends, where the hills stretch towards the city, almost beleaguering it and creating a sort of rural outpost right in the city centre, in a unique replication of the late middle-age ambiance.
A section of the cellar, with its local stone vault, bears evidence of its almost millenary existence, and is still used for the bottle ageing of our wines.
